Salamander Hideaway
For Women

sailboats, canoes and kayak are on the beach and free of charge!Hi I'm Lisa Berger ( with the kitty) and I would recommend teh Salamander for certail personalities.  If you need air conditioning, or maybe you had a spa in mind this is NOT the place for you.

If you really want to get away to fish and leave the rest of the world behind this IS the place for you. If you just want to get away and do nothing this IS the place for you (us).

I can lie on a beach chair ( or the boat) and read a book all day long.  Ed doesn't seem to believe that I am having fun and my guess is some of you can relate.

Here are the facts:  There is no air-conditioning or pool,  the food is great, the beach is great for sunbathing but the swimming part is not that great,  the rooms are quaint but are too rustic for many people.  The reef is an easy reach by kayak for snorkeling.   The ambience is way laid back.  Take the normal Belize pace and slow it down some more and you ge the idea.

The fishing is out standing ( I hooked 2 tarpon in my hour on Tarpon Lake last time - the bigger one  was about 30 pounds and broke off on the first jump as the line wrapped around my reel handle :( I did get another small one to the boat.

There are lots of places to get more luxury on Ambergris so feel free to give me a call or drop me an email.
