Hi! I'm Lisa Berger, Xcalak is another great spot if you want to get away from it all. The water is warm, the people are easy going, the beach is lovely. If you like to snorkel or dive this would be a good spot to be. There is no shopping or variety of restaurants, and besides Tierra Maya has the best restaurants in the region anyway . They don't allow diving up in Ascension Bay so here you have the same advantage of being on the reef but diving is legal!
If you'd rather just curl up in a hammock on the beach you might see me - I just love to sleep and read! There is no need for shoes, there are no phones and faxes and email beating you on the head.
The fishing is easy if you want to call any Saltwater fly fishing easy. The fish are pretty cooperative since there isn't much pressure down here. The guides are patient and kind and will make sure you enjoy the day out on the water. It is spectacular blue water I am sure you will love. ( Oh yeah... did I mention the air temp is 85 and the water is 80 degrees!!) This sure sounds good since I am writing this in Boston, in the winter and its dark and the phone is ringing again. I am happy to answer any questions from a women's point of view so let me know!
