Xcalak
A perfect name for this small family owned resort. There are 6 rooms that all have direct views of the Caribbean. Sit on your veranda, watch the sun set while sipping a margarita fresh from the hotels bar. Even though we are small it is a full service resort that was built in 1998. The rooms are quite spacious and can accommodate a variety of bed configurations. It is located on the old beach road just north of the village of Xcalak, Believe me, this is far far away from the strips in Cancun.
We also have a full service restaurant and bar on site - The Maya Grill and Bar. The freshest of sea foods are served daily as well as a variety of meats, fruits and vegetables all served with cleanliness and freshness first and foremost. Your package includes three meals a day:
All Dinners include Appetizer, Soup & Fresh Homemade Wheat Breads, Entrée and Dessert I guess you will not be losing much weight on this trip! Actually a good day out on the flats burns a lot of calories!.
The village of Xcalak is small and tranquil. There are about 500 residents. Life in Xcalak is relaxed, most people live from fishing. or the tourism business that is slowly growing. Infrastructure development is slowly bringing Xcalak to the 21st century standard of living. However due to environmental laws the area is protected against large scale tourism. Developments like the local clinic and library increase the standard of living for the native population. The village of Xcalak lies within the Xcalak National Reef Park. The park protects the Meso Amercian Reef which lies al along the Costa Maya coast. On the south side of the marine park lies the mangrove area with the river Boca Bacalar chico. Many people visit that area to see the beautiful flora and fauna.
