Isla Holbox - Trip Options
Isla Holbox is an island on the northcoast of the Yucatan penninsula. It is about 3 hours by car and then boat from teh airport to the town of Holbox (pronounced " Holbosch"). There are two choices for a successful trip to Holbox. We offer a new lodge dedicated to flyfishing and several small hotels that we team up with our guides. The choice is difficult as all the properties are lovely and on the same beach. Mostly it boils down to whether you would like the added bonus of the fly fishing lodge with a fly fishing manager on site. The guides will be the same no matter which option you choose.
Tarpon Beach Resorts: Utilizing one of several local hotels we can team you up with the best guides on the island. There are a variety of rooms and suites that are available. The packages usually include all meals or we can arrange an early breakfast and pack a box lunch for the boat with dinner at one of the restaurants in town. While the hotel option is a little less expensive than the specialty lodge there is no fly fishing director on site. The guides are the same but the managers at the hotels are not fly fishing enthusiasts.
The Flyfishing Lodge at Holbox : This is the only lodge on Holbox that is dedicated to fly fishing. Luciano, the manager will take care of every need whether it relates to fishig or the accommodations or meals.
The lodge is located on the beach with a great veranda. They serve breakfast and lunch with dinners on your own in town. Fly tying materials and station are available for guests of the lodge. The tarpon and snook are a short boat ride away
