Things To Do
The non fishing day could be as simple as doing nothing - hanging out on the beach with a good book. Our fishing guides double as a snorkeling tour guides to the shallow reefs just offshore. We have equipment but if you have your own, bring it! We have several sea kayaks in both single and 
tandem and some instruction in their use. It is a beautiful paddle out to the lighthouse at the end of the point and
into the lagoon system to the west. An incredible array of birds thrives in the mangroves lining the channels in the lagoons. Flamingo's, Frigates, Boobys, Wood Storks all have rookeries in the area. You can also arrange Eco tours through us that will study the preserve in more detail.
The Mayan ruins in Tulum, Coba and Chichen- Itza are top destinations for those who want investigate the ancient ruins. We also can take you to Xacaret for an interesting day at this ecological theme park, or Xel Ha is another popular tourist stop just north of Tulum and within an easy day trip from Punta Allen.
Flyfishing instruction is also available any time you'd like. We have plenty of rods for you to use and we'll have you double hauling in no time! The big thing is there is no pressure (I don't think they even have a word for it in Punta Allen!) and the week is yours to spend as you please. Lisa and I will make sure it pleases you whether you're a fishing maniac or a beach bum.
