Hi, I'm Lisa Berger, Christmas Island is perfect for women who already enjoy bonefishing or for those who want a serious week of learning to flyfish for bonefish. The guides all speak english well and are accomplished flycasters and instructors. The groups are always small so you get lots of attention. There are lots of other things to do there as well: snorkeling in some incredible spots, scuba diving, birdwatching or just plain relaxing.
I think it's great that there is no shopping, or TV's, phones, faxes, pagers and the like. Just plenty of sunshine and beautiful water. There are a few nooks and crannies of beaches, the accommodations are basic (though not as
romantic as the thatched roof cabanas that we have in Mexico or as luxurious as the air-conditioned private cabanas in Belize). The bathroom is shared, the food is great and our hosts Eri and Agnes are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet. I do know that there are some men and women out there that would find this trip too rustic, so please give me a call if you have any doubts. Since a plane comes in just once a week it is important to make sure you will be happy with the accommodations and activities on the island before you get there, because there is no way out for a week!!.
